And they meet!!

Aimee and I have been friends for about 1 year now, and spend quite a bit of time together with our kids. Unfortunately, our husbands are both a mix of shy and homebody, and we never managed to get them together....until now!! Last night we went over to Aimee's house for a BBQ, and we had a fantastic time. Our kids play so well together, it was a constant hum of laughter, and not one squabble in 3.5 hours! If you have ever been around a group of 7, 6, 3.5, and 2.5 year old kids....you know thats no small miracle :) The daddies got along great too which made Aimee and I very happy!

While we were there, a thunderstorm rolled through the skies. The sky all around us was dark and black, with lightening and thunder cracking and booming. Its not common for us to have these types of storms here, so it was really cool to sit outside and watch it roll by. The kids climbed up in the play structure in Aimee's backyard and watched through binoculars. They were fascinated....Rowan was wide eyed every time the thunder would boom, she kept asking "What is that noise mama?" and the boys would shout with excitement with every lightening bolt. We are all looking forward to many more BBQ's in the future. And...if all the stars align, and we totally luck out....we may have a much shorter drive to get together in the near future. MUCH, much shorter :)

Since a picture less post is so not my style, here are some pics of recent happenings around the house. We got out the paints and brushes the other day, and the following is the creativeness that ensued:

Killian made a picture of a ship for his Papa (who was in the Navy) for memorial day. It turned out really good, and Papa loved it:

Rowan did a bunch of pictures, but her paint tray was art itself!

Yesterday I decided to wash the car, and the kids really got into helping:

Killian was in the cleaning mood, so he got out his bike and washed it too. I am never going to pay for another car wash again!!
