I took the kids to Rood Bridge on Tuesday, its a really cool park thats close to our house. We spent a lot of time there last summer, and it was especially fun when we went with our friend Aimee and her boys to play in the shallow stream that goes through part of the park. They are "fixing" the stream now, but hopefully it will be flowing again in time for summer!
First we had to stop at the playground, of course. Rowan pondered the big big slide:

But decided to go with something....smaller:

As we headed out on our walk, Killian was so sweet with her, holding her hand, and sharing all kinds of wisdom with her. He told her many times that if she picked up a green stick that she should throw it down immediately, and run away! I was a little confused, until he confided in me that he was worried she was going to touch stinging nettle. He had learned all about it on a recent field trip to Jackson Bottom with his class, and he was just full of information. He also pondered how much of a mud puddle might be "animal urine". We didn't walk in it just in case :) Killian was in a protecting mood, so he told Row she needed to hold his hand while she walked down this steep part of the trail. Good thing too, cause she slipped 3 times, and would have fallen pretty hard if he wasn't there. Awwwwwwww:

They found all sorts of treasures:

And Killian climbed every rock he could find:

Killian was the first to spot the ducklings.

I swear that boy has radar for small fluffy creatures. Its sweet how much he loves them...I am cherishing this time when my boy is full of wonder and love for these little creatures:

We also saw not one:

but two little bunnies:

And a slithery snake:

And a heron!

It was a wildlife filled adventure today, thats for sure!
Then we tossed around some rocks:

Broke one:

And called it a day :) I cant wait for the warmer weather so we can repeat this type of day much more often!
