Yesterday I took the kiddos to Rood Bridge, which is a cool nature park near our house. It does have a playground area, but we hardly ever go there, its way more fun to explore. Last year we went for the first time with our friend Aimee, and spent hours playing in the shallow stream that runs through part of the park. The next week we went back to play, and it was dry!! They had closed it to do repairs, and they just now reopened it a year later. The kids plotted evil plans to take over the place:
And then, they were off! Rowan didn't want to go in the water, so she followed Killian on the bank:
Killian found a bunch of...what else...sticks (!) and built a little tepee. They eventually pulled out enough of the tall grass from the bank to completely cover the sides. That made it look like a big pile of grass in the "finished" pictures I took, so the beginning stage is all you get :)
I just loved this picture of Rowan...she looks so innocent!
