Good friends and good times

We went to see our friends Nick and Sarah this Sunday for a BBQ, and had such a great time! I have known Sarah for about 5 years (wow...has it really been that long!?) and I love her and her family to pieces! We met at Comcast, at one time all of us worked there...actually, Matthew, Sarah and Nick all still do. I am the only defector :) Sarah and I try to get together at least every couple weeks for lunch dates, but its hard with all our schedules for us to get the families together at the same time. Everything came together this weekend and we headed out to Portland to see them and check out their new house (which is beautiful, by the way!!). The only problem? My kids can not STAND their dog. Seriously. Especially Killian. Check out these pictures for proof:

So yah, like I was saying, they LOVED this dog :) Killian played with Nevaeh until she was a panting puddle of pooped out puppy. This boy needs a dog in the worst way. We have Jizmo, but she is going on 15, and not that into playing anymore. So it was a lot of fun for him to spend hours chasing, tugging, and playing with her. Rowan was busy taking self portraits of her eyeballs:

Their daughter Hailey came home from a slumber party right before we left, so the kids got to spend a little time together too. They made funny faces for the camera:

And then got serious:

We had a great time, it was so good to hang out with Nick and Sarah again. Sarah and I are just about as different as two people can be, but it doesn't matter at all. We have been through a lot in our friendship, and we have both changed, grown, and started new chapters of our lives. Through it all, we have stayed close, even though we don't get to talk or spend as much time together as we would like. What I love about Sarah is that she is one of the most accepting people I have ever met. She listens to me ramble on about the latest hippy stuff I am learning about, and she smiles and loves me no matter what crazy ideas I come up with. She is a true friend, and amazing woman, and a wonderful mama. I love her to pieces and am so grateful to have her in my life!
