Well, actually it was the last coffee, but I needed a more attention grabbing title :) A little backround: A year ago this month, Aimee and I started hanging out, about once a week or so, mostly picking berries and hitting farm after farm with the kids. When September came around, both our big boys went back to school. On a whim one day, Aimee suggested we do coffee at this little coffee shop in FG called BJ's. Little did we know, we were starting a tradition. We began meeting every week at 9am for a couple hours of coffee, muffins, and a whole lot of chatting. Coffee became something I started looking forward to about 5 minutes after it ended. It was a weekly de-stresser, a time when I knew that we would be able to chat freely, without chasing kids anywhere, without the hassles and impersonal feeling of the phone or computer. A time to reconnect with someone who was quickly becoming like a sister to me. We carried on through the cold winter months, and soon were joined by baby Jon, who took to coffee dates like a champ. It has been so neat to see how much he grows week to week. We missed about 4 or 5 coffee dates over the course of the last 9 months...birthing a baby is a good reason to stay home for a few weeks, and snotty noses are also high on the list. But still, that means that we had close to 36 fun filled mornings at the coffee shop. But like they say....all good things must come to an end. Today was our last hurrah, our last stand...our last coffee. Next week our big boys get out of school, and as Killian kindly pointed out one week when he was out of school and able to join us, a coffee shop is no place for big boys to spend 2.5 hours first thing in the morning. Actually I believe his exact words were "this sucks, and I hope I never have to come back here again". LOL. So, we decided to be kind to our big boys, and take a break from the coffee shop for the summer. Never fear, we have decided instead to meet at each others houses once a week for a big family breakfast, which I think the kids (and us) will really enjoy. As fun as I think its going to be, a teeny tiny part of me is already yearning for September, and the return of our sweet tradition. Here are a few pics of us, taken by the coffee shop coffee maker lady* and Aimee:

Wheres Henry?!

I love the smirk on Rowans face in this one:

*This place seriously loves our kids. The owner, and all the employees have pulled us aside numerous times to say how much they love having us there, how great the kids are, and today, how much they are going to miss us. We have even had fellow customers, including a sweet old lady today, stop us to tell us our kids are very delightful. I thought that was pretty cool. Its mostly due to Aimee and I bribing the kids with play doe and cookies though. But we would never admit it ;)
