On Saturday we went out to Happy Valley, to celebrate Matthews grandmas 82nd birthday. Great Grandma Sally has lived out there for many years, she raised Matthews mom and her two sisters on 16+ acres. Its a beautiful place, and we have really enjoyed taking the kids out there every year for her birthday celebration. This is the last year that we will be able to do that, because grandma is getting to old to take care of herself, and her daughters have sold the land, to move her closer to them. Its really sad, because its somewhere that Matthew and his brothers and sisters spent a lot of time growing up, and it holds a lot of really good family memories. From what I have heard, the city of Happy Valley has bought the land to turn it into a park, so hopefully our kids will still be able to go out there when they are older, and Matthew can tell them stories of when he was growing up. Here are some pictures.

The view from the deck:

This is a circular driveway through the woods, so the kids love to run around it and this time Riley and Killian decided to gather sticks and make a teepee!

Since Rowan is the only girl cousin, she gets lot of attention from the boys. If this continues to be a trend her whole life, we are going to be in trouble!

My unsuspecting family:

Here are a couple family photos....as you can see, the guys greatly outnumber us girls. Good thing us women have all the brains ;)

Grandma Sally with the kids:

We are going to miss this place...
