Since Rowan last nursed :( I am so much more emotional about it than I thought I would be! It was the last connection we had to babyhood, and its really hard to let that go. We did feel it was time though, she was down to once a day at nighttime, just to get to sleep. So it hasn't been a huge change for her, and she is actually sleeping much better at night, a couple times she has slept through the night! It took 2 1/2 years, but what an accomplishment!! Matthew is handling all the bedtime routine now, because if I am around it doesn't go well at all. I tell her goodnight, and give her loves and kisses, and then go out the front door, telling her I have to go to work. She goes upstairs, does books, teeth, and then Matthew rocks her and sings to her, and she is usually out like a light in about 10 minutes. Its been kinda nice for me to have a break from being the go to bedtime person, and Matthew feels like he is getting closer to her, and her to him. So it has brought good things, this not nursing, but its still hard. I miss the connection, and the innocence, and just all the sweetness that comes along with nursing. Knowing that she is my last makes it harder as well. I know the time is right for us though. Rowan is excited because she is going to have a "Big Girl Party" and she says she is going to invite all her friends over and have chocolate cake. You should see the way her eyes light up when she talks about chocolate cake! Its the sweetest thing ever :) I am so glad that I nursed her this long, even though it was hard at times (like when she still nursed every two hours, 24/7 at 18 months old) I wouldn't change it for the world. I am very proud of us both :)
Speaking of funny kids, I forgot to post on the last post that if anyone ever needs ideas for kitty names, come to my kids. Before we saw that our boy responded to Caesar and we decided to keep that name, we had a blast trying to figure out new ones. My favorites:
Tie-Dye french fry
Five dollar foot long
Bacon Bit
Killian came up with those first two...can you tell that he was hungry?!? LOL. We about peed our pants at some of the stuff they came up with, it was so cute to have everyone shouting out totally ridiculous names. Lucky for the cat, he didn't end up with any of these :)
