Another suzy homemaker post...

I know everyone is probably tired of me always writing about my garden or baking/cooking, but they are things that are really exciting for me so I cant help it. Prepare yourself :)

This is what we picked out of the gardens last night (home and work):

Isn't that amazing? What was even cooler than harvesting it all was seeing the kids eating right out there in the garden. They would pick a bean and eat it, grab some broccoli and eat it...at one point rowan had a bean in her mouth, a bean in one hand and a spear of broccoli in the other. It makes me so happy to see them doing this because not only are they getting food at its very freshest, they are hopefully developing a life long love of gardening, and the desire to try more and more new veggies and fruits, since they have had a hand in growing them. It also feels great to know that its completely safe, because we garden organically, and never use and pesticides or chemicals....and our garden is thriving because of it!

Today we tried a few new things in the kitchen....we made bread and pizza dough from scratch. It was so much fun, the kids helped the whole time, taking turns measuring and kneading. They loved it! Killian got to punch down the dough, which he thought was the coolest part of the whole process. He is such a little boy, I love it! And surprisingly (to me) they both came out okay! I think I left the bread to rise a little too long, because I was busy making the pizza dough and sauce, but hopefully it will still taste good. The kids wanted to help serve the pizza, so Killian got Rowan a towel and writing pad, and he piled the plates on a cookie "serving" tray:

So cute! Here are the finished products:
