We had a great week last week, and stayed really busy (good for a 7-almost-8-year-old-who-hasn't-been-in-school-for-way-too-looooong). On Thursday we met up with our usual gang, Aimee and the kids, and went peach picking, a first for me. While I had visions of jar upon jar of peaches lining my pantry this winter, I chickened out and got just enough to eat and freeze:

Rowan helped by finding the cutest peach in the whole orchard!

Then she found this one, which wasn't nearly as cute, but probably tastes a lot better ;)

I might go back for more next week, because apples and pears, my real favorites, will be ripening then, and peaches should still be around. I am a little intimidated with canning fruit for the first time....I have all the books, and websites, and information....I just have to get out there and do it! I did do something creative with them...peach crisp!

YUM! After we went picking, we headed back to the house for Rowan's official "Big Girl Party". I have been meaning to have this for a few weeks, it was a get together to celebrate her being done nursing, and she has been talking non stop about it, mostly because she wanted chocolate cake :) What better way to celebrate than with her best buddies. Unfortunately, she wasn't excited AT ALL.

She got a big girl Foogo cup from me and Killian (and daddy, but he was at work) and Aimee and the boys got her some Polly Pockets and a really cute plate and bowl set.

She was so excited, and had such a great time. Of course, the chocolate was everything she had hoped it would be, except it put her under some kind of spaced out spell, and she grew a goatee:

We also had the Air Show this weekend, so we invited Michelle and Riley over to watch it with us. We had a great little spot near the road behind us, where Killian and I had gone the night before and watched all the jets and the propeller planes looping around. So I expected the same kind of show on Saturday, but we were really disappointed. We sat outside for nearly 3 hours, and only saw a couple jets, and hardly any air stunts....it was such a let down! The boys had a great time though, Riley and Killian play so well together. They are such tough guys!

We have been getting so much from the garden! We got great handfuls of beans the other day, and have been getting lots of cucumbers and zucchini squash:

I made a really yummy Lemon Zucchini bread the other day, it turned out so well, and was so easy to make! Here is the recipe in muffin form, I cant seem to find the same bread one from my cookbook. It was so so good!

Here is one michevious little sister:

Here is one big brother, who had a hose down his pants(???), and wasn't paying attention to what the above little sister was plotting (which was to turn on the water full blast, and watch brother yell):

MWWWWAHAHAHAHAHA!
