Wanna be like Mike?

Cause Killian and Rowan sure do! Uncle Mike and Aunt Kami came for a visit this weekend, and the kids were SO super excited. We only get to see them a couple times a year, so its always extra special when they visit. Killian and Mike are so much alike....they tinker with stuff, they love little bits of wire and metal, and they love to create things together. Rowan was a little reserved at first, but quickly warmed up, as Mike has a way of making kids smile. We met with Mike on Friday while Killian was in school and Kami was working. Rowan and I took him by the new house, did a little shopping and then hit the garden. It was fun being able to take him there and show him our harvest, since I would consider him a M.G (Master Gardener) and always go to him with questions. My tutelage has apparently paid off well because we picked 1/2 a bag of lemon cucumbers, about 8 peppers, and a cantelope! The next day Kami had off work, and Killian had off school, and Mike had his daughter Sophia. We decided to head up to Washington Park because Mike and Kami had never been there, and its a great place for the kids to run around.

Killian took the opportunity to climb every tree he could find:

Rowan took the opportunity to look cute:

This tree was really neat, one of those trees with the super slick bark. I don't know what they are called, but we like em!

Rowan and Mike blazing trails together:

Bonding:

A very overexposed picture of all of us, taken by a sweet lady who stopped by on the trail and offered to take our picture. I think she used the flash, mid day, which makes us all look a little orange:

After the hike, we headed over to the huge playground located near the Rose Garden. Its really a neat place, I haven't been since Rowan was a baby. Back then, she just played in the sand box, but this time she got to run all over and explore everything. She mostly hung with Uncle Mike, and they shared deep thoughts:

Killian and Sophia played on this chair swing almost the entire time. This picture cracks me up because of Sophias expression. She isn't having any fun or anything ;)

Everyone had a really fun time getting to hang out with Mike and Kami, although the visit was too short, and we already miss them again. We wish you guys didn't live so far away :(
