The day of the big move came and we were all so excited that it finally arrived. For the last week or so I felt like I was in some awful time warp. I had packed all that I could pack, because everything left was stuff we used on a daily basis. I couldn't clean too much at the rental, because we would just dirty it up again while moving. And I couldn't do anything at the new house because although it was ours, we didn't get possession until 5pm the night before we moved. So I sat and twiddled my thumbs until Saturday, and then Matthew and I packed like crazy and got everything we owned in boxes. We had decided to hire a couple moving men to move all the heavy stuff for us. I am SO glad we did it! The guys were great, the moved all of our furniture, and then we still had time for them to move all the boxes from upstairs to the garage (we had only hired them for 4 hours). When the uhaul was packed up, we drove it to the new house and they unloaded it all. Then we got a quick lunch, and headed back to the rental to meet up with my awesome sister and brother in laws, Michelle and Jason. They helped us move all our remaining stuff to the new house. Start to finish, we were done in about 6 hours. Not bad at all!
I have to say here that we are blessed with, quite possibly, the best family EVER. After we got done moving, Michelle went to her car, and came back with a homemade chocolate cake. HOMEMADE CHOCOLATE CAKE people!!! It was so much better than any boxed cake mix, and it was so nice of her to think of our sweet tooth ;)

Aimee had volunteered to watch Rowan while we moved, even though it was Canadian Thanksgiving that day and she was going to be busy cooking and spending time with her family. While we didn't need to take her up on the babysitting, she made another offer that we couldn't possibly refuse. She drove all the way out to our place to deliver us an amazing Thanksgiving Turkey (and Ham!) dinner. It came with all the trimmings and was so good that the whole plate was gone in about 20 minutes! It was so thoughtful and just what we needed after a long day of hard work.

Thank you Aimee and Michelle, we are so blessed to have such a wonderful and thoughtful family to look after us!! <3
