It was late at night, and the kids were otherwise occupied. The lights were dimmed and Matthew and I snuggled closer on the couch. Slowly, Matthew leaned over and whispered in my ear....
"Here's $40 bucks...go buy that cat scratcher off of Craig's List"
Whoa....what were you thinking this post was going to be about?!! Getcher minds outta the gutter!! ; ) I have scored a couple great deals in the last few days, and thought they deserved their moment in history. The cat scratcher was sweet find, its brand new and never been scratched! So far they are curious, but not in love.

The night before I had found this cute little chair for Rowan on Craig's List for $15.00. Although its well loved, and I don't really care for the design, its in solid shape and a good price. I figure if I ever dig my sewing machine out again I will try to make a new cover for it. We are planning on converting her closet to a reading area, since its quite big and her clothes are still quite small. So I guess it doesn't really matter what it looks like anyways!

See that ghost pillow she is clutching so gleefully? The other day the kids and I were at Target, our home away from home, when we saw they had a few Halloween items left. At 90% off!!! You know we had to check that out, and we found a couple steals. A skeleton candy bowl that Killian HAD.TO.HAVE, normally $14.99 on sale for $1.49! I found a cute Frankenstein candy bowl, and got it for $1.49 also. Then, the best deal of the day. Rowan has been really interested in ghosts since Halloween. She is always running around pretending to be one, and trying to scare us all. So when she layed eyes on that little pillow, she thought she had won the lottery! She clutched it to her chest and proudly declared that this was her new best friend! Killian was offended in a way that only a 8 year old can be, said "I thought I was your best friend" and scowled at Rowan. She quickly assured him that he was still her #1 best friend, but now "ghosty ghost" was her 2nd best friend. They worked it out, we paid .79 cents for it, and Rowan now proudly totes her ghost around the house with her.
I sure love a great deal!
