Snow....a timeline

I thought one massive post all about snow might be easier to handle than a bunch of little ones :)

Saturday:
In the morning this is the amount of snow we had (4 inches). Silly us, we actually though it was impressive:

Matthew and I took the kids out to play in the snow, our plan was to build another snowman, as ours had met an untimely demise. But the snow was too fluffy and powdery to make anything with. We did have fun kicking it around, and running amok though.

One of the trees in our backyard...doesn't it look pretty all covered in snow?

By nighttime, we had accumulated quite a bit more snow (9+ inches):

And had more pretty trees to look at:

Sunday:
Today we woke up to more snow, all covered in about 1/4 inch of ice. We didn't get outside to play in it today because of how slippery it was. I did go out to make sure the dryer vent was clear (it was....apparently our dryer just doesn't like the cold much) and got this picture of the backyard. You can barely tell we have a deck!

The cats really seem to enjoy watching the snow fall:

The kids entertained themselves by playing Ninja. Check out Rowans Ninja sneer:

We didn't get any measurements with the trusty blue ruler because the layer of ice sandwiched between the layers of snow was too hard to break through. But it comes up to our back door!

Matthew went out around 7 to clear the snow off of my car (the one we put chains on) so he would be ready for work this morning. The kids watched for a bit, and Rowan ate snow from the railing:

And Killian pretended to be in Bermuda:

They soon got to bored/cold and headed inside. I stayed out to supervise from the safety of the porch. It was a big job, the car was completely covered in snow!

Matthew got some huge chunks of snow and ice off the car:

I took some pictures I thought are pretty neat, they show the ice line between the snow layers. This is from the top of the car:

By the time we went to bed last night, we had at least 15 inches, probably more. Then today Matthew woke up to another 3 inches on top of the car. With the prediction of 2-6 inches more today, soon we really might be snowed in!
