On Wednesday I went to a Scholastic book warehouse sale. Its the first one I have ever been too, and it was crazy!! They have them in a warehouse (duh) and they have aisle after aisle and stack after stack of books. Thousands of books. Books for all ages, baby to grown up. They were all brand new, and almost all were at least 50% off the cover price, some up to 80% off. The kids both had books on their Christmas list, and reading is something that's really important to Matthew and I, so we never turn down requests for books from the kids. Usually we try to buy them used at Powell's, but this was actually a better deal than used books! I ended up getting 37 books (some in the back of the picture are triple packs) for under $70.00. That's $1.89 a book! I gave them each one that day, a sticker book for Rowan and a Nate the Great chapter book for Killian. I also found myself a sweet little cookbook all about pancakes, waffles and syrups to make. Yum! So we have 35 books for Christmas presents, I think I actually got all the books on Killian's list. Rowan isn't too picky, she did choose some of these but the rest will be a surprise. I cant wait for the next sale, I easily could have spent triple what I did!
