We have been looking for a loft bed for him for months, but had to wait until we got our tax money back. But of course once we had the money, we couldn't find any wood ones. There were tons of metal loft beds on Craig's list, but that's really not what we wanted. I had searched Craig's list earlier today, and hadn't found one, but on a whim I checked after dinner and found that this one had just been listed. I called and since the people only live 10 minutes from us, we headed over. We loved it! It comes with the mattress, the desk chair and the dresser, all for only $400! Its a savings of well over $1000, these sets are really expensive. We will get a uhaul Saturday morning, and the guy will help Matthew load it up. I am not sure what we are going to do once we get home, since I cant help unload or put it together, but we will figure it out! I am just so excited to finally be getting one for him, its going to give him so much space in his room. Plus, when he outgrows it, Rowan will be old enough to have it in her room!
We also scored another deal on Craig's list this weekend. I found a glass topped patio table, with 6 chairs, an umbrella stand and a huge umbrella for just $100! Aimee said she saw a similar set at Home Depot for $70 for the table, and $40 a chair. That would be $310, PLUS the cost of the umbrella stand and umbrellas (which I have seen priced at about $100). So we saved over $300 buying the patio set used too!
I love Craig's List. I not only like finding good deals for my family, but I really like that I can "support" local families, instead of big stores. Yay for reusing and recycling!
