Confession: I love cooking magazines. Well, truthfully, I love all magazines because I enjoy getting fun mail, but I especially like my cooking magazines. I have a subscription to Everyday Foods, Cooking Light, and the Food Network magazine. I also have numerous other magazines, and most have at least a small recipe section in them. In the past, I have been folding down the corner on a page with a good looking recipe or tearing out the page. Either way, I would promptly forget all about it, and certainly never get around to cooking anything new. But the other day I decided to get organized! I bought 4 white 3 ring notebooks at goodwill for 99 cents each, and a pack of 100 clear sheet protectors from Target for $8.00. I organized all the pages I had previously ripped out (and done nothing with) into 3 categories: Dinners and side dishes, Desserts and treats, and breakfast and healthy snacks. Then I simply filled the sheet protectors with a recipe on each side, inserted them into the notebooks, and voila! I am now organized, and its super easy to find the type of recipe I want and flip through the pages until I find the perfect fit! Now I just have to go through the remaining magazines piling up in my cupboard :)

I also made a book for our garden, to keep track of things like what seeds/plants we planted where and when, and how well they did. Hopefully this will be helpful in future years of gardening!
