The Easter bunny came to visit this Sunday morning!

He brought Rowan and Killian remote control cars, which was the one thing they were really hoping for. They also got sticker books (Rowan) and drawing paper and a mechanical pencil (Killian) and assorted yummy treats. Our Easter bunny goes easy on mom and dad, and packs good treats like granola bars in with the peeps and pez. I loved this manic picture of Row, she kept bringing treats over to the couch to show me. Does anyone think she actually needs any more candy!?!

The kids had to go outside right away to try out their new cars, and they are really having a great time with them. This house is the perfect place to live if you want to play with remote control cars!

Around noon Matthew and I got out our ham, and seasoned it and put it in the oven.

I took a before picture, but not an after, but it looked really good once it finally got cooked. I say finally because it took well over 4 hours total! We put it in the oven at 250 degrees, like the recipe said and made sure to stick a meat thermometer in so we would be able to tell when it got to 140 degrees. And it did, after 3+ hours and a couple oven temp increases. But...the middle was still bloody!! It was really gross and had everyone envisioning ER visits with food poisoning :( So we sliced part of it, and put the slices back in the oven to cook longer. It tasted really good when it was finally done, much better actually that regular ham, and it had a much fresher taste. But I think next year we will try to get a ham that's rolled more evenly than this one, it was actually supposed to look more like this one:

Well, you live and learn. And nobody got food poisoning from our Easter dinner...at least not that I know of! We ate until we were all stuffed, drank enough beer to drown a small pony, and had a fabulous carrot cake a'la my wonderful bakes-awesome-cakes sister Michelle. Oh, and we also watched the "Its the Easter Beagle Charlie Brown". Because my nephew Takoda? He doesn't believe in the Easter bunny. He knows that stinky old bunny is just an impostor, and really....its the Easter Beagle that brings baskets of candy and toys on Easter morning. And he isn't shy about letting everyone know the truth! So, whether you believe in bunny or beagle, Happy Easter to you!
