Its cold out here

I think our chickens are mostly pretty happy little birds. They have a nice warm coop to sleep in, and they get to free range around our yard during the day. They have plenty of food and water, and get a little mental stimulation when they have to chase off any bluebird that dare land in our yard (pretty funny to watch, the chickens are clearly territorial)! But apparently we are not doing enough. Because all day today, I have had sad little chicken eyes at the back door, begging me "let us in, please, let us in":

Silly chickens! Seems that sometime this weekend they lost their fear of the deck, so this is their new favorite hang out spot. They seem to like watching us, and apparently they are finding treats to eat in our sliding door track:

I am happy for them getting past their fear, but now I have poo on my deck! I tried shooing them off for a while, but as soon as I turned my back, they would hop back up. So I gave up, and have just been enjoying watching them watch us :)
