I don't know what is going on with these kids! They have always been very healthy, getting fewer colds per year than most kids we know but lately that's all been turned upside down! It seems like every week its something new, and it started with the bad colds they had when I came home from the hospital in February. That was a pretty bad one, they were both feeling really sick for about a week each. There have been smaller colds in between now and then, but now we have a whopper again. Last week Killian came down with a cough, and while it never got really bad, he did miss two days of school. Now little Rowan has it, and it seems much worse for her. She is coughing all night long, losing her voice, and today she woke up with a fever. She wont eat today, only 1 piece of string cheese, and a few apple bites. This has pretty much been the scene for us today:
She is watching Monsters Inc (her all time favorite movie) and holding her "Boo" doll, who she must have at all times while watching the movie. Pretty cute, even when sick.
I had to take her to the doctor yesterday for a rash on her bottom that just would not go away. The doctor diagnosed Folliculitis, which is an infection of the hair follicles. She is on antibiotics for 5 days to see if it helps, and its seeming to already. I need to take Killian to the doctor some time soon because he has small white bumps all over his elbows, forearms and neck. What is it with these kids and their weird rashes and infections? Last year Killian got shingles, and they both got hand foot and mouth. Cant forget about Killians bout with near blood poisening from what we think was an infected spider bite. Hopefully we wont have anything that dramatic this year! I am starting to think a plastic bubble might not be that bad of an idea!
