Yesterday we ordered 7.5 cubic yards of mushroom compost for our garden from a landscape company that's pretty much right behind our house. They delivered it this morning, and it was sight to see!

Look how steamy it is!

After the steam settled, we were left with one huge pile of compost. And let me tell you...it STINKS! I feel bad for inflicting the stench on our neighbors, it smells like we have about 30 well used porta potties sitting in our driveway :(

The plan is for me to *try* to get the last garden box out today, along with digging up the rest of the blackberry bushes that we are not keeping. Then tomorrow morning we have a guy coming to give us an estimate for rototilling the entire garden for us. I found him on Craigs list and his prices are lower than what it would cost us to rent one and do the work ourselves! Plus it helps out a local guy trying to make an extra buck. I can appreciate that! This weekend will be spent moving all the old wood from the boxes to one large out of the way pile, moving the dirt around to make it mostly level, and making about 1,563 trips from the pile out front to the garden out back. Its going to be a long weekend, but I hope that I can report back that we are done and ready to plant!
