This morning Row and I headed out early to run a bunch of errands...stuff that had to be done and that I had been putting off. We got almost everything on our list done which felt really good. One thing we had needed to do was return the pool that we got the other day and get a new one. We had bought one of those big blue ones, that come with a pump and filter. We had got a great deal on it, although we weren't really sure we needed it with the neighborhood pool being just two blocks away. Well, we got it, and I took it out yesterday and started reading the instructions and realized that not only are you supposed to use chemicals in it, but also that you have to replace the filter every two weeks...and have an extension cord running because the pump had to be plugged in. It also said that when you drained the pool, the chemicals would kill all the grass and vegetation that it came in contact with. Yikes! That's more than I wanted to deal with, so we returned it and got a regular old blow up pool. Row and I got it filled with air and water and then went to pick up Killian. They seemed to like it!

Once we got home, we did a lot of relaxing in the sun. Our neighbor kids came over to play in the pool, and they all had a great time splashing in and out of it. After a while, they took a break to eat some cherries and talk. I was hanging out on the hammock reading a book, and half listening to them...kids have some pretty funny conversations!

These kids get along so great, I am just thrilled that we ended up with such awesome neighbors (especially after the sucky ones we had at the townhouse). I enjoy talking and hanging out with them (the mom stays at home too, so we have lots of opportunities to chat) and like I said, the kids get along great. Especially Rowan and the little boy Cole - he is a year older than her, but they have a lot in common, like legos...and spiderman ;)
I headed inside to get the pizza dough started for dinner, and while I was in there I heard the unmistakable jingle of the ice cream truck. We haven't had one come into the cul de sac so far this year, although we have heard them roaming the neighborhood streets. I ran to get my purse but the neighbors beat me too it and treated us all to ice cream. Have I mentioned already that I really like them?!!? Cole and Rowan got Spiderman ice cream sticks...of course. Now Rowan has a red and blue chin, and she seems pretty proud of it too:

The kids and I ate the pizza (it was gooood, I will post the dough recipe soon, its my new favorite) and then headed to Costco to pick up some lunch stuff for tomorrow. We have Aimee and all her boys coming over for lunch, and for Dave to cut down the branches that are smothering our cherry tree. The big and little boys are sure to have fun watching/doing that!
When we got home the kids settled down to watch a Dragon Tails, and eat an ice cream (you can never have too much ice cream)! They were about halfway through when I heard the front door open...the kids know better than to open the door without me there, so I was freaking out a little as I rushed from the kitchen to find...Matthew! He got to come home about 2 hours early because work was slow...what an unexpected treat! Even better for me than seeing him was that he offered to put Rowan to sleep tonight...she has been REALLY hard for me to get to sleep lately, having big crying fits almost every night. Its about random stuff too, she will say that Killian got his feelings hurt by someone and then erupt into tears, or say that Daddy is sad and then she just starts bawling. I am not really sure whats going on, but I figure she just needs a release at the end of the day so I try to be patient and snuggle extra with her....but after an hour or more it starts to get a little hard.
Well, now that Matthew has her to sleep, I think we will go do something crazy, like watch a movie together, uninterrupted!
