We actually have a fence back there!

Dave, Aimee and the boys came over today to hang out and to help us get a little yard work done. Dave has a new chain saw, and he needed something to cut...and did we have the job for him! There is a tree that is on the other side of the fence that has been growing into our yard for what appears to be a very long time. Its totally smothering the cherry tree, and blocking a large part of the bark dusted area along the fence line. Here is a picture of it from October when we moved in:

Is that a fence I see back there?

Why yes it is! And I think we might even have enough room now to plant another fruit tree in this newly cleared space:

We were left with a huge pile of branches. Some of it we can save for firewood, but I don't know what we are going to do with the rest of it - the pile is much bigger than it looks like!

After the work was done, the kids promplty started making forts in the pile of branches, and played in the swimming pool while we made lunch. We got a lot accomplished and had a really fun day. So to Aimee and Dave - THANK YOU! And to the kids, thanks for supervising and looking so darn cute while you did it!
