Matthew has been asking me for a couple weeks when I was going to go pick raspberries, because he was just sure that they should be in season now. I have been putting it off, saying that didn't think they were ready yet. Come to find out, Matthew was right, and the season has been in full swing without us. Today we decided to go picking, and I was hoping that between the two of us, we could pick enough to make jam this year.
See...I hate picking raspberries. Out of all the berries and fruits we pick, they are easily the ones that I could do without. They take forever to pick, they are super delicate, the kids always seem to get bored before I have even a bucket full. They don't like raspberry picking either! But Matthew loves raspberry jam, and has wanted some for the last two years. Unfortunatly, it looks like we missed the season again this year, and his much dreamed of jam will stay just that...a dream!
We did pick 3 pounds before giving up, and it was just enough to make a yummy raspberry cobbler. I didnt get a picture of it, but here are some pictures of our berry picking adventure.
