Beautiful Blues

Last week Matthew and I took the kids blueberry picking. I was worried that there wouldn't be any left, because we have never waited this late in the season to go before. We were pleasantly surprised though and managed to pick 30 pounds in about an hour!

Next came the arduous process of washing, sorting, freezing and bagging them all. We ended up with 10 freezer bags almost full, which came out to about to 23 pounds frozen.

We gave another couple pounds to friends, and ate the rest. Blueberries are such a treat, I am glad we weren't to late to get some this year! They are the last berry of the season for us - next up is peaches, pears and apples!
