California dreamin'

The other night we had Wayde and Jessica over for an end of the season BBQ and had a great time as usual. When it got dark we headed inside to let the kids watch a movie while our conversations continued. I don't know who brought it up, but we started talking about Disneyland and how magical a place it is. Neither Matthew or I have ever been, but Wayde and Jessica take their kids every year, so they know everything about where to stay, where to eat and what to see. They are going in February of next year with some of their family, and have mentioned a few times that we should go with them. I didn't really think about it, because I didn't see how we could afford it. But once we started talking in depth about it with them, and listening to their experiences and coming up with some money saving ideas....I think we might just be able to pull it off! I am just giddy with excitement at the prospect...I had always dreamed of going to Disneyland when I was a kid, but it wasn't something that my parents could ever afford. To be able to take my kids would be so amazing, and to be able to share the experience with some of our best friends will make it that much more special. We haven't told the kids yet, as everything isn't set in stone and a few more things have to happen before we can be 100% sure its going to work out. But right now we are about 75% sure it will work, and I can not wait to see their faces when we tell them we are going! The plan is to do Disneyland for two days and then Universal Studios for one day before heading back home. It means a few days off school for Killian, but I am okay with that. I will take irreplaceable life experiences for my kids over a day of school anytime. I can not wait for this....I hope the next few months fly by and that its February before we know it!!
