Matthew mentioned a couple months ago that we should think about getting Rowans hair cut. She has never had a haircut, and I have been resisting because I didn't think she really needed one. She said she didn't want one either! Her hair has always been scraggly at the ends though, and usually to keep it neater looking I put it back in a ponytail. She HATES ponytails and always wanted to take it out the minute I put it in. I told her the other day that if we cut her hair, she wouldn't need to put it up anymore. She was suddenly very excited about getting a haircut and practically dragged us to the salon. We took some before pictures:

On the way there, I teared up a little!! Rowan is my last baby, and I want to keep her that way forever. Its so hard for me to see her growing up, and a haircut is just another sign that she isn't a baby anymore. Somehow I am going to have to come to terms with the fact that she is almost 4 years old! I kept it together though, I didn't want to scare Rowan, and Matthew and Killian were giving me some very strange looks. I guess you just have to be a mom to understand!
When we got there we had to wait a few minutes, so I was flipping through a hairstyle book and showing Rowan all the weird haircuts. She didn't like any of them, until we got to the boys haircuts. She got excited and said that's exactly what she wanted!! She had been saying all morning that she wanted a haircut just like Killian's. Funny girl! I told her that she could get a boy haircut when she got older, but for now we were just going to cut a little bit off. She sighed, but agreed to the less drastic approach.
When they called her back, she went and hopped up in the chair - she was so excited!

The lady trimmed and snipped while Matthew, Killian and I all stood around her. I think she thought we were a little crazy!

Almost done, and looking so grown up!

The final result!

She looks so beautiful, and so grown up! I cant believe what a difference a haircut can make, and I really like it a lot. Its much neater looking, and I think it feels better for her too. I cant deny it any more, my baby girl is gone and there is a big girl here to stay!
