When I picked Killian up from school today he hopped in the car and said "Mom, I have the best news EVER" and he was really excited. He said that his teacher had told him that Jeff Kinney, the author of Killian's favorite series "Diary of the wimpy kid", was going to be at Powells Books today to autograph books. He asked if we could please go, and of course I said yes. Its not every day that you get to have books autographed and meet the author!
We stopped home to pick up his books, and drove out to Powells. They were handing out tickets for the event, and we ended up in the 100-125 people group. By this time it was about 3:30, and since the signing started at 5:00 it didn't seem worth it to drive home just to turn around and drive back. So we checked out stores at the mall, and hung out in the car for a while just reading and killing time. We also saw the Wimpy kid tour bus, which was really cool!

Finally it was about 5:45 and we headed back into the book store. It was really busy, and we realized they were still working on the group that was just before our group. We wandered around for a little longer, and finally it was our turn! Killian was so excited (and maybe a little nervous). They chatted while Jeff autographed all the books, and they talked about how neat it was that Killian had all 5 books in the series.

They probably talked for all of 1 minute, but it was totally worth the 3 hours that we had to wait. Killy is so excited to have all his books autographed, and to be able to tell his friends and his teacher that he got to meet Jeff Kinney. I am just as excited for him :)
