I never thought I would be posting this on November 3rd, but we are still getting tomatoes from our garden! They continue to ripen on the vine, as well as in the house if we need them to ripen faster. Right now we probably have at least 15 out there that have started to ripen!

We also have the broccoli in, and its doing well, although the caterpillars are having a feast on the leaves right now. I need to get out and spray some BT (an all natural bacteria toxic to caterpillars) on them, but until this week haven't had a nice dry day to do it. There are the plants show in the picture, and then another 4-5 along the right side. I think its about 20 plants in all...I cant wait till they are ready to eat!

Matthew and I got out in the garden this weekend and cleared out the remaining corn stalks (we left them in so long to use for fall decorations) and leveled the ground out. We spread our crimson clover seeds, although I fear that we may have waited too long. Hopefully they can get themselves established before we freeze!

The garden looks so different now! I am excited to see it like this, because it makes me think of spring, and I am anxious to get in there and plant again. This year we didn't get as many things in as I would have liked, either in the spring or the fall. But we have learned a lot, and that can only help us for next year. I think we might even expand the garden, and do corn up there on the hill to the right, and beans for drying out our back door. I will probably spend the next 6 months inside drooling over seed catalogs, and gardening books!
