In January, Matthew and I made a commitment to ourselves that this was the year we were going to get healthy. We were both in good shape when we met each other, but a pregnancy, and 5 years of a comfortable marriage have led us to both pack on a few extra pounds. We both want to be healthier and more active, not only for ourselves, but for our children as well. We have each been working out at least 4 days a week since the 2nd week of January, and have completely overhauled our eating habits. Junk food rarely makes it into the house anymore (except for a few special occasions), and we are eating less and eating healthier.
And the results are finally starting to show....we are losing all those extra pounds!! Matthew has lost at least 20 pounds and as of today I have lost 17.5 pounds. Pretty impressive considering we took a couple weeks off in February due to illness and our vacation! I am really proud of Matthew and of myself for sticking with it, when it would be so much easier to make excuses, and not make the time to exercise. We aren't dieting, we are making major life changes, and I cant see us ever going back to our old ways. It helps that we are a lot more informed about food, as we can see those snacks and processed foods for what they really are - garbage that doesn't deserve to be in our bodies! I am happy that we are making these changes now, while the kids are still young so that they will grow up respecting their bodies and keeping themselves healthy. I am looking forward to continuing on this path and to continuing with the weight lose. Its feeling good :)
