Roasting up some fun

The weather last weekend was so beautiful! Our spring has mostly been cold and rainy so far, we even had temps of below freezing just two weeks ago. So when we saw the forecast for the weekend was sunny and in the upper 70's, we couldn't wait to get outside and soak up all the sun. On Friday night we invited Jessica and Wayde over for a BBQ and smores - it was our first BBQ of the season and it was so much fun! The kids played outside and ran around with water guns, built forts and played with chalk - all the warm weather fun they have been missing. Matthew, Wayde, Jessica and I sat around, drank some beers, ate a yummy dinner and had a lot of laughs. I have said it before, but its worth repeating - we are so lucky to have our neighbors also be such great friends!!

After dinner the guys got a fire started in our little fire pit, while the kids gathered around to ooh and ahh the big flames:

We hunted around the yard for sticks, and the smores making began!

There were marshmallows catching on fire, giggles and laughs going around and of course, many ooey gooey treats were consumed. It was the perfect evening, and makes me wish summer weather would get here to stay so we have more nights like this to look forward too!
