Can you see it?

In January Matthew and I started a fitness program, and for the most part we have both stuck with it really well. Over the course of the last 6 months there have been vacations, illnesses and moments of weakness, but overall I am extremely proud of how well we have both been doing.

There are pictures hanging by our front door from our fall family photo shoot last year. Because of where they are placed, I look at them every time I finish a workout. A few weeks ago I started to notice that the face I was seeing in the mirror everyday was a little different than what I saw in that picture. A little less....round. So I thought I would do a side by side comparison between a picture from last fall, and a picture taken this last Saturday:

Its subtle, but I see a difference! According to the scale this morning, I have lost 27 pounds since the first week of January. I am feeling really good about that, and excited and motivated to continue getting healthy. I used to do just 4 days of cardio, but have switched to 3 days of cardio and 2 days of weights. We are also continuing with eating less and less processed foods, and more whole natural foods, with a focus on fruits and veggies. I feel like I have more energy, healthier skin, hair and nails, and an overall glow that I didn't have for a long time. I even bought new jeans and shirts that were a size smaller! I try to focus more on how I feel physically than the number on the scale...but it sure was nice to fit into a new pair of smaller jeans!
