And the weather is finally cooperating! We had planned to go raspberry picking with Stephanie after Killian's swim lessons, but it turns out that the person I spoke with last week at the berry patch was misinformed, and raspberries are not quite ready for picking yet. So we decided to head over to a great park near Stephanie's house and enjoy the sunny day. I am so glad we did! The kids had a wonderful time playing in the water at the park, and I got to soak up some sunshine and chat with a wonderful friend, both of which I really needed!
This is quickly becoming one of my favorite parks to take the kids too. It has huge play area, with neat things to climb and play on that I haven't seen anywhere else. In a separate area is the water and sand pit. The kids had a great time following the water down a little staircase waterfall:

There were a lot of big rocks laying around, and Rowan spent most of her time climbing up and down them. She played a lot by herself today, which was a little unusual, but I think she was having so much fun with the rocks that she wasn't that concerned with what everyone else was doing.

The kids on the way out of the park; Rowan, Killian, Stephanie's 3 girls and her little daycare boy:

We played for a couple hours before it was time to head home, and we all had such a great time. It feels so good to be in the sunshine. After the long winters and rainy spring and fall seasons that we get, sunny weather is always something we look forward too. Even more so this year because its taken so darn long to get here!

Its amazing the difference it makes in the kids too - they are so much happier and joyful when the sun is shining and they are out playing with friends. I am hoping this summer weather stays around for a while, if we went back to rain now after having a taste of the good stuff I think I would cry!
