Christmas with Jeanne

Today we had Jeanne over for a lunch and an early Christmas celebration. She doesn't have any family in Oregon, and with no grandchildren of her own she really looks forward to spending time with us and the kids during the holidays. The kids were really excited about it as well, mostly due to their being early Christmas presents involved!

Rowan opened hers first, and was so excited to see a Dinosaur Train set. She loves watching this cartoon, and she has actually learned quite a bit about her beloved dinosaurs from it.

Killian got a Diary of a Wimpy Kid shirt, hat, puzzle and a couple bookmarks:

We gave Jeanne a photo album of our year, in pictures. She is *really* difficult to get presents for, she has everything that she could ever need or want so its really about trying to make something personal for her. She had mentioned wanting more pictures of us, so I thought this would be the perfect present. I printed out pictures from all our adventures this year, and wrote little captions in the space beside each picture. The bonus of putting this book together for her was getting to relive all the fun we had this year, its so easy to forget everything that you have done. Its really been an amazing year!

Jeanne loved the book, and she spent a lot of time flipping through the pictures and reading over the captions. We spent a while more chatting and watching Rowan play with her new train before it started getting dark and Jeanne headed home. It was a nice way to include her in our holiday celebrations, and I hope it made her Christmas a little brighter!
