Snow Day!!

Oregon weather forecasters tend to cry wolf about impending snow storms so often, that nobody ever believes them when they say its going to snow. Why, just a few weeks ago we were supposed to get 12 inches here on the valley floor....we ended up with no snow at all. Talk about disappointing! So when they started telling us a few days ago that it was going to snow, we all rolled our eyes and went on with our lives. But what do you know...we actually got snow this time!!

It wasn't the 3-4 inches that they predicted (of course) but it was about an inch or so which is enough for a day home from school for Killian. This was also Ruger's first time around snow, and he took to it right away with the exception of him not being 100% sure he wanted to sit down on it....cant blame him for that though!

He figured out that it was a tasty edible treat by watching Rowan lick it off her mittens:

And he spent a lot of time snuffling around in it and looking adorable:

It was really cute to watch him running around with the kids and them all having such a great time together...it makes me really happy that we finally got a dog!

Rowan figured out a way to make it snow, since it had stopped by the time we woke up:

Killian joined in on the fun, and they had a real blizzard going:

Ruger wasn't entirely sure if he liked all that wet stuff falling from the sky, and was torn between playing with the kids and running away. I love this picture because it clearly shows that he is all feet - look at the size of those paws!

We played outside for an hour or so, before the kids got cold and Ruger got tired. We headed inside and I built a fire for the kids while they got changed back into PJ's and settled in for a movie. Ruger was happy to take advantage of the warmth of the fire just as much as the kids were:

We spent the rest of the day in and out of the snow, making cookies and drinking homemade hot chocolate, and watching movies together. It was lots of fun, and I am glad that this time the weather guys got it right!
