Today Rowan and I met my friend Jenna at a local dog park to let our puppies loose to romp and run around together. Ruger and Kuma (Jenna's dog) could not look more different, but they are both German Shepherds, and are only a couple weeks apart in age:
This was Ruger's first dog park experience, and it went pretty well. I am not a huge fan of dog parks in general, because in my experience they are a haven for obnoxious, poorly socialized dogs and their oblivious owners but we are cautiously optimistic about this one. Its in a small town between my house and Jenna's house, and it doesn't appear to be overly busy. We will give it a try a few more times, and hopefully Ruger will continue to have good interactions. He has so much positive fun at his puppy romps every week, and I want him to continue to have a good time with other puppies and dogs.
Jenna is a photographer, so she brought her camera with us to take some pictures of the dogs as they romped around. She got some great ones of Ruger:
