Remember what Ruger looked like at 7 weeks?

Look at him now, at just about 18 weeks:

The difference is amazing to me, I cant believe how fast he is growing up! He is about 55 pounds now, and only 4.5 months old. I am starting to wonder just how big our little guy is going to get! He is really the best puppy we ever could have asked for, even though he most certainly has his moments that make us want to tear our hair out (and question exactly why it was that we wanted a dog in the first place)! Luckily, those moments are getting farther and farther apart, and we are really enjoying all that he brings to our family. He is almost finished with his beginner training class, and he is doing so well in it. He just seems to pick things up really fast, even though we haven't always been able to spend as much time teaching him as we would like too. I still try to take him out in public a lot for socialization, and he is getting way better at accepting pets from strangers and learning not to be so skeptical of new situations. We take him to a puppy play group every Sunday, and he has made lots of little friends at it. He seems to really take a liking to smaller dogs, but even though he is usually 4 times their size he still plays really gently with them. There is only one other puppy that is his size that he will even give the time of day, and that's probably because its another German Shepherd!
Our handsome guys at almost 4 months:

Having sweet dreams:

We are getting really excited for summer, and getting to do so many new things with him - beach trips, camping, and long hikes in the forest...its going to be so much fun!
