Its weird sometimes, how we meet people. The chain of events that has to occur to bring a certain person into your life at a certain time is sometimes overwhelmingly complex when you reflect back on it. That is certainly the case with someone who is in my life right now. We met online through mutual friends, and talked a few times through email. There were times that I wasn't sure if we were really "clicking" with each other, because email is a hard way to communicate with someone you have never met in real life before.
But it only took one time of meeting in person, one morning of sipping tea and enjoying a wonderful conversation together, a few moments to get to know who she really was, and my heart made up my mind....we were simply meant to be in each others lives. When we get together it never ever seems long enough for all that we want to share with each other. We never run out of things to talk about, and I always have a comfortable feeling when I am with her, like I have known her forever. When a friendship is so easy, and feels so effortless, you just know that it is meant to be. It is pretty wonderful to have someone in your life like that!
The kids and I recently took a trip out to her farm with a mutual friend to have a cheesecake and dessert party. Our collective 11 children were positively giddly about that idea, as you can imagine! They used the opportunity to run amok on the farm together:

While we mama's got to enjoy each others company, and a beautiful day on the farm. As we wandered around the property, I snapped some pictures of some of the lovely animals that get to call this place home. We saw a mama duck and her little black ducklings:

These pretty girls are her milking cows, grass fed and beautiful:

She also raises beef cows - here they are gathered around the water, enjoying a perfect summer day together:

This little kitty is one of my favorites on the farm. He did a great job of watching over us while we checked out the cows:

And an even better job keeping an eye on the baby bunnies:

Who were totally adorable, and had me remembering Lulu's sweet little babies:

Speaking of little babies, how about this little one?

And if that wasn't enough cuteness, there were three more! They were all so small and soft, it was really hard to fight the urge to stick them in my pocket and take them home.

The kids all stuffed themselves on cheesecakes and cobbler, and everyone had a wonderful afternoon on the farm. Much too quickly the kids and I had to pack up for the long drive home, and as soon as we left I started trying to figure out how soon we could get back out there to visit again. Friends like this one just make you want to be around them every chance you get!
