Fun for everyone

We had my sweet niece Sophia over this weekend for a sleepover, and had such a great time. We definitely don't see her enough, between our busy schedule and her families busy schedule, but every time we have her over I think to myself "We need to see this girl more often"! She has grown into such a sweet, kind and generous little girl, and we all enjoy her company tremendously!

We picked her up after dinner, so with their hours till bedtime dwindling the kids went straight for Killian's room to get to playing as soon as we got home. So I don't have any pictures from that night, but take my word for it - a great time was had by all. They stayed up late, made a great big mess, and ate everything they could get their hands on. Kids!

The next morning the girls and I got to work in the kitchen, making Pumpkin Scones for breakfast:

They were a big help with measuring, pouring and mixing, and teaching that dough that these girls are not to be messed, especially not while in possession of sharp kitchen gadgets!

Mmmmmm...scones. The kids enjoyed them much more than they enjoyed me taking their picture!

I have no more pictures from the rest of our time with Sophia, because Matthew had a little adventure to go on and he took the camera with him. For his birthday I bought him a seat on a beer bus, for a tour that they were taking of some breweries down in Eugene. The kids and I dropped him off in Portland to meet the bus, and off he went to have some fun with fellow craft beer enthusiasts. These are some of the pictures he took along the way.

Ninkasi brewing company, which makes some of Matthews favorite beers. I was so excited for him that he got to go down and tour it and meet the guys that work there!

Matthew would know the proper name and use for these things, but I will just call them shiny metal things, useful in making large quantities of delicious beer:

Matthew had a great time on the tour, and the kids and I had a complete blast hanging out with Sophia. It was a weekend full of fun for everyone!
