The Best Present

My friend Angie and her daughters came over today for a little holiday celebration. And when there is holiday celebrating to be done, you know that's going to involve some presents! I swear its like my kids are having multiple Christmases this year, with all the celebrations we are doing beforehand, and (surprise, surprise) they are not complaining about it one bit!

The kids lined up on the couch, waiting to tear open their gifts (my camera was on the wrong setting while taking these, so they are not the best quality):

Killian got some new Pokemon cards which was exactly what he had been hoping to get this Christmas, and Rowan was thrilled to get a jungle puzzle and a Playmobil Lion family set:

Our present to Catie was a handmade cape. Our neighbor makes them, and she had given one to Rowan for her birthday last year. Every time Catie comes over she wants to wear it, so I worked out a deal with my neighbor that I would buy everything that she needed, and she would make it for me. There was also something in there about paying her with some baked goods...not a hard deal to agree to during the season of cookie and treat baking! I think Catie really liked hers, here she is with Rowan wearing their matching capes:

And we cant forget about the littlest party goer! Baby Callie got a stuffed owl toy from Killian and Rowan, but she was much more interested in trying to scooch across the wood floors. She is such a little cutie patootie!

All the girls together; Rowan and Catie absorbed in play, and Callie trying to figure out how to get to over to them:

Angie surprised me with some presents for Matthew and I, which was so thoughtful of her (and had me feeling horrible because I hadn't gotten anything for her and Brett!). She knows us so well and got us the most perfect gifts - local tea and a beautiful tea mug for me, and for Matthew some hops that they grown along with a couple bottles of Brett's latest batch of home brewed beer. I just love Angie and her whole family to pieces, and we all have such a great time when we are together. Even our husbands like hanging out with each other, and that's nearly impossible to find! Their friendship is the best present of all, and we are so blessed to have them in our lives, this Christmas and all year long.
