Zoolights

We took the kids to Zoolights tonight, a special holiday display of lights at the Oregon Zoo. Like every other year, the lights were beautiful and it was absolutely freezing cold outside. I always think we come prepared enough with hats, mittens and warm coats, but inevitably someone is cold! We braved the elements though, and took a trip through the zoo to check out all the light displays. At the entrance of the Zoo:

These lights make the trees look like they were coated in freshly fallen snow - they were really pretty!

We went to check on the line for the zootrain, but it was already up to an hour and a half wait and the ride isn't that impressive so we decided to skip it. This sign was as close as we got!

Rowan made some friends as we walked through the zoo:

Pretty lights on the trees line the path down to the lawn area:

And from the other side:

Rowan really loved this alligator, and asked me to take a bunch of pictures of it for her:

Rowan the beautiful butterfly!

On the way to the exit, Rowan just about fell over when she saw this furry guy up ahead and she ran as fast as she could to go give him a big hug:

One last picture before we leave:

The kids enjoyed a cup of hot chocolate, and had a great time looking at all the lights. Zoolights doesn't change much, but it manages to be a fun experience every single year.
