Rowan lost her first tooth today! It has been wiggly for a while now, and she has been anxiously waiting for it to fall out so that she could put it under her pillow for the tooth fairy. And it finally did come out, but not the way she had hoped. She took a big bite of apple today at lunchtime, and suddenly yelled "My tooth is missing"! We searched everywhere around her, but it seems that she swallowed it along with that chunk of apple. She was so sad! We decided that the tooth fairy would probably be pretty understanding, since this sort of thing most likely happens to lots of kids. So Rowan wrote her a nice note explaining what happened:
It says:
"Dear Tooth Fairy,
I lost my first tooth today. I couldn't find it. I think I swallowed it on accident. Thank you for visiting me.
From, Rowan"
On the front of the page she drew a picture of her in bed, with the tooth fairy hovering over her. And on the back, she drew this wonderful portrait with the caption "This is you tooth fairy":

She tucked her note away under her pillow, and waited anxiously for the morning:
She was really hopeful that the tooth fairy would still bring her some money even though she didn't have a tooth to leave, and she wasn't disappointed! She got a nice crisp $5.00 bill! She is now busy wiggling teeth around to see if anymore might possibly be wiggly. Now that she knows she can rake in the dough when the tooth fairy visits her, loose teeth have never been more exciting!
