Happy Easter!

The night before Easter, Rowan was hard at work making sure that the Easter bunny was going to have absolutely NO trouble getting around our house and figuring out just what to do. She left him some carrots and her water bottle, along with the notes "These carrots are yours Easter Bunny" and "And you can drink this water too Easter Bunny"

She drew a beautiful picture of him on "Easter Island" and left a note letting him know it was okay for him to take the picture home with him.

This was probably my favorite note that she left. She taped it up on the hall doorway and it said "Please fill our Easter baskets in the dining room Easter bunny" and then there was a little arrow to the right that said "This is an arrow to show you where our dining room is". Isn't that the cutest thing ever!? She has such a great imagination!

And that Easter bunny did find his way to the dining room, and by the looks of things, he had no trouble finding or filling their baskets!

He also left a note! Well, a note was left for sure, but it wasn't from the Easter Bunny! It was from Killian, posing as the Easter Bunny. He is such a great big brother that even though he knows the Easter Bunny isn't real, he really wants his little sister to keep believing and he wrote this note to leave for her to find. He knew how excited she would be, and I just love that he went thought of this idea all on his own and was so excited to see HER excited.

And excited she was! She read the note out loud, and the looks on both of their faces while she did was absolutely priceless. It was definitely one of those moments that parents will always remember.

Now on to the most important part of the whole morning.....the Easter baskets! This was Rowans basket:

And Killian's haul:

Rowan was very excited to see this adorable little Lion in her basket, she had seen him a couple weeks before at the mall and had been hoping that the Easter bunny would bring him. And he did! What a great bunny he is!

Killian was happy to see art supplies in his Easter basket, he has been drawing a lot lately and wanted some better paper to use than plain old printer paper.

And treats! With us eating Paleo this year, we had to get creative with the kids Easter baskets...gone are the days of filling them to the brim with junk! They did get a few candy treats, because we are not as strict with their diet as we are with our own (neither Matthew or I ate a single piece of Easter candy this year!). So they got a pack of Bubble Tape, and one eggs filled with Laffy Taffy, and one filled with Swedish Fish. And the rest was still treats, just not junky ones! They each got Lara Bars, a package of trail mix, freeze dried strawberries, fruit leathers and dried pears and mango. Oh, and a chocolate bunny. Cause you cant have an Easter Basket without a chocolate bunny! And you know what...they were thrilled with what they got! They didn't care that there wasn't a bunch of candy in there, they were too busy being excited about Larabars and fruit leathers!

And a very silly little girl, who was thrilled that the Easter bunny had followed her directions and made this Easter a smashing success!!
