You can make anything out of Lego's!

When Matthew and I were up at All-Stars, the kids stayed with our friends Angie and Brett for the weekend. Angie had a ton of fun activities planned for them, one of which was a day at OMSI. While they were there, they saw that a Lego exhibit was going to be opening the following week, and both kids were so excited about it and really wanted to go. I was able to take them today, and boy...was it worth the wait. It is totally amazing what people can do with a couple tiny Lego bricks!

The kids in front of some giant Lego faces!

A life size person made out of Lego's...how cool is that?

At the end of the exhibit hall, there is an area that kids can build a Lego creation, and then put it up on the wall to display for everyone to see. They decided to build towers, and searched forever through the bins of Lego pieces for these blue ones that they needed. Rowan with her tower:

And Killian with his slightly larger tower. I love how proud they are of their creations!

We headed upstairs to check out the rest of what OMSI had to offer, and ran across this cool thermal imagine machine. We are all such hotheads.... ;)

I think the science area is the kids favorite place to hangout. This water shooting cannon made out of a two liter soda bottle is always a popular one. The kids took turns seeing who could get the bottle to shoot up highest - they both made it all the way up to the top!

Our next stop was some sort of little lab room, where they had all sorts of fun things to play with. Rowan really liked this bouncy ball drum:

While Killian made everyone in the place go crazy when he stepped up to this electricity ball with that long hair of his:

Getting bigger....

Still growing....

WOW! Look at that hair! It was so impressive that strangers were taking pictures of him with their cell phones (which made him feel very cool indeed):

The kids and I had a really fun day, and it was so nice to get out of the house together and have some fun. Definitely took our minds off missing Matthew, though the kids did mention a few times that they wish he could have been with us. I sent him lots of pictures though, and I know he was there with us in spirit!
