Minnesota, Day 1 and 2

We are here!!! The kids and I flew into St. Paul, Minnesota yesterday, and it feels so wonderful to be back together as a family today. We got in late last night, so after a little unpacking and a quick dinner, we hit the hay. Matthew had to work today, so the kids and I were on our own to explore the city. The weather was beautiful; sunny and hot (unlike home!) so we decided to check out a playground I had read about online. First impression? These Minnesotans know a thing or two about having fun - this playground was amazing!

It's so big, I couldn't fit it all in one shot. That covered area to the left is a gigantic sandbox area, and up behind it to the left is another playground area like the purple and blue one in the picture. Which is huge compared to the size of the kids (they are standing there in the middle of the picture). The area to the right is covered picnic tables, and farther down, walking trails, a water area and a basketball court. To the right of that big tube filled play structure is this area:

The kids loved this climbing structure, and played on it for at least an hour.  There were just so many possibilities for fun!

We stayed at the playground for a little too long - the kids and I aren't used to temps over 90* in May (or any other time, really) and we all got overheated and cranky. So we headed back to the air conditioned apartment to rest and unpack while we waited for Matthew to get home.

We went grocery shopping that night, and since he is on the 3rd floor of an apartment building, we had to lug our purchases up the elevator and down the hall - the building keeps grocery carts in the garage just for this use!

We went for a walk after dinner to explore the area, cuddled and watched a movie together, and then went to sleep, recharging for another fun day in the Twin Cities!
