Today is Saturday, and what better way to spend the morning than at a Saturday Farmers Market?! The weather today is not great - huge thunderstorms are rolling through the city and they are dumping loads of rain. But the farmers market is mostly undercover, parking is under a bridge, and besides....we're Oregonians! We can handle a little rain ;)
Walking from the car to the farmers market, you can see how gloomy and rainy it was:

Rain, rain, RAIN!

Under the covered area, and out of the rain were gorgeous veggies for sale:
And rows of beautiful flowers. There was so much color under the tents, it didn't feel quite so gloomy out once we were walking around.
We found lots of treasures - a tiger hat for Rowan, a couple bags of coffee from the Minnesota roasting company for Angie and Brett, handmade goats milk soaps for ourselves and some friends back home, freshly roasted nuts, and for the kids, hot chocolate to warm them up.

Our next stop was another playground - this time an indoor one! Which was perfect because the weather definitely didn't improve throughout the day. When we got to Edinbourough Park, I was amazed (again!) at how awesome the playgrounds here are. I imagine that this is a very popular destination for kids in the winter months, as there is so much to do here. It's a one acre indoor park, with a swimming pool, running track, fitness area, snack bar, huge playground and an awesome multi-purpose play area. And the landscaping inside totally blew my mind - it did not feel like the inside of a building at all!
We stopped at the multi-purpose area first. It's basically a 60 by 90 foot gym, equipped with basketball hoops, playground balls, and tons of options for scooting yourself around. There were a bunch of different pedal operated cars, some flat seats with wheels and some push cars for the littler kids. Killian and Rowan had an absolute blast running, wheeling, and sprinting around this room. They were sweaty in no time!

When they got bored in the gym, we headed over to the amazing play structure. It's a 44 by 44 by 30 foot tree shaped adventure with tons of slides, areas to climb and obstacles to get around. So, so cool.

The kids played here for HOURS. They had so much fun climbing in and around and chasing each other up and down the tree. When I think of indoor playgrounds, I always think of stinky smell ones like you would expect to find in a McDonalds. This one was nothing like that at all! Besides the sheer size of it, and how much space there was for kids to run around, there was a ton of natural light since the ceiling was almost entirely glass, and the whole places was landscaped like an outdoor garden. It was very unexpected!

The kids were completely exhausted by the time we left, so we headed home and spent the rest of the day just hanging out together. We have been on a lot of adventures since we got here, and had a ton of fun, but its the moments where we can just quietly hang out and be a family that we are treasuring the most. It is so good to be back together again!
