Kindergarten Graduation

Rowan graduated Kindergarten today! It's just mind boggling how fast this year has gone, and I cant believe my little baby girl is growing up so fast. I wish that Matthew had been able to be here to see the graduation ceremony, but he is still in Minnesota for a couple more weeks. I took a bunch of pictures though, and he and Rowan got to talk about it tonight on the phone.

Here is the 2012 Kindergarten class walking into the ceremony:

The kids performing some songs they have been learning:

This picture cracked me up! Rowan looks like she is thinking "okay, can we hurry this thing up please?!" and most of the other kids look totally bored too. I guess its more exciting for the parents than the kids!

My little graduate!!

I had heard they would be giving the kids cookies at the class party after graduating, and I didn't want Rowan to be left out of the special treat, so I made her some strawberry cupcakes to celebrate:

Rowan did such a great job this first year of school. She had a little bit of a tough time adjusting those first few weeks, and again when she switched to full days. But she got the hang of it really fast and quickly began excelling in all her classes. Her teachers loved her too!  I can't count how many times one of the three has come up to me in school to tell me how much they enjoy having her in class.

After school was out, some of the parents and kids met at a nearby park for a potluck celebration. The kids ran around and had a great time, while us mama's talked about how they were growing up way too quickly.

I am so proud of Rowan and all that she has learned this year. She is such a sweet, kind and generous little girl, and I can't wait to see what great experiences 1st grade will bring!
