You know it's officially summer when the kids break out the water balloons! I filled and knotted balloon after balloon, until there was a pretty respectable pile of the little jigglers. We split them in half, because like all good water balloon fights, this one was boys against girls, brother against sister. The girls talked strategy, while the boys goofed off in the background:
It seemed to pay off at first for the girls - they came out strong and had the boys running for cover:
But the boys soon launched a counter attack, and the girls lost some ground:
Killian disappeared somewhere, and the final showdown was Cole vs Rowan and Taylor:
From my safe (dry!) spot on the porch, it appeared to end in a tie - everyone thoroughly soaked and full of giggles. I'd say that if the next few months are anything like this afternoon; full of friends, laughter and fun, then we are in for a really great summer vacation.
