My friend Amber works in event planning for one of the hospitals in our area, and this year she had some leftover tickets to our county fairs big events - a monster truck event, motocross, and demolition derby. She asked if we wanted them, and we quickly accepted! The monster trucks were up tonight, and the kids were super excited (Rowan couldn't even focus long enough to look at the camera)!
There was a lot of heavy machinery out on the track first - bulldozers to scrap the dirt into mounds, and this big truck that sprayed hundreds of gallons of water down on the track:
And then the fun began! They brought out these little trucks first, and they did some impressive jumping for their size:
But then it was the big guys turn!
He roared his way into the crowds hearts, and had everyone cheering as he raced around the track and flew off the jumps. He caught some major air on some of them!
The happy spectators:
After the Monster trucks were finished, they brought out the water truck again and soaked a long strip of track down so that people could race their trucks through the mud. There were all sorts of trucks and SUV's that raced through this (many with their windows open!!) and they made a huge mess. The kids loved it!
On our way back to the car, look what we came across in the back of the parking lot: a shiny black Lamborghini! Killian, who is absolutely car C-R-A-Z-Y right now, nearly fell over in his excitement to get close to it.
We didn't get the chance to walk around the fair tonight, since the event didn't start until this evening and we needed to get home for dinner. Luckily we will be back tomorrow for the motorcycle jumping and the demolition derby!
