Back at the beach

Matthew and I took the kids to the beach today, back to the same beach that Aimee and I took the kids a month ago. It was perfect weather, not to cold or windy and not to hot (although that's probably never an issue on Oregon beaches)!

We spent a long time there playing together, and it felt really good. Days like today make me SO grateful for my family...just to spend time laughing and being silly together. I am truly blessed to have such a wonderful life, and I just love both my guys and my little girl so much.

Rowan running to meet up with daddy....I love gangly arms and legs flying around when little kids run!

Like brother, like sister:

The kids collected shells and crab legs and we made a "shell-henge" together:

We tried digging to China, but gave up and filled the hole with the kids instead:

Ahhhhh....2nd grade humor...and look at that grin!

Killian is getting so big, and growing up so fast...sometimes I stop and look at him and am amazed that my tiny little baby is changing into a big boy. Crazy.

Matthew and I asked Killian to take some pictures of us, and I loved this one...but you cant even tell we are at the beach!

Ahh, some ocean. That's better!

We had taken supplies to make Smores to the beach, but we decided to wait until we got home to make the fire because it was so windy at the beach. As soon as I tore the marshmallow bag open, the neighborhood kids appeared like magic. I swear kids can sense when you are about to dole out some sugery goodness! We helped everyone roast their marshmallows and only had two catch on fire this time. Marshmallows that is, not kids! Our grown up neighbors headed over too, with some of their family and we stood around our backyard talking and watching the kids play. I had to laugh to myself because I noticed that while all the adults were standing in the same area, we had grouped ourselves by gender and were talking about totally different stuff. The guys talked about video games and beer while us mamas talked about the kids and groceries. I just thought it was funny that we were all living up to our gender stereotypes!

Today was just one of those days that you wander around with a grin plastered on your face all day because everything in your life has come together so wonderfully that you cant at any moment think of anything that could make your day any better. I loved it and am still feeling so happy and loved....and what an good feeling it is!
