Painting a sunny day away

I've taken the kids to paint your own pottery stores before, but it's been at least two years since we gone and since they had a blast last time, I figured it was about time these little Picasso's had another adventure. It took forever for the kids to settle on what they wanted to paint. There are so many choices! In the end, Killian picked a race car bank and Rowan chose a container and lid shaped like a cats head. They had a great time picking out paints and painting and embellishing their choices. The store will fire and glaze the ceramics, and then we will get to pick them up in about a week. I cant wait to see how they turn out!

We stopped home for a quick lunch, and then headed out to pick some blueberries! A couple years ago we stumbled upon this great little farm that is near our house, and they have the best blueberries I have ever tasted. It's a big bonus that the bushes are always bursting with berries to the point that they practically jump into my bag! We picked pound after pound with ease, and after a couple hours, we had a lot of beautiful berries collected:

Summer never seems to last long enough around the Pacific Northwest, so both our ceramic creations and our freezer full of frozen blueberries will be welcome reminders of summer and all its glory during the coming months of cold and rain.
